The most obvious flaw in society is greed, the desire to get ahead of the next guy. This malady is present on a national level. It is the philosophy of business and comprises the dreams of man. Sometimes, this can drive man to great things, sometimes it can drive a man to ruin. Willy was driven to the latter. (Not his own greed for he was a simple man with simple dreams, still by the greed of others.) The developers who took away the sun and gave birth to shadows, his boss who reduced him to commission and his sons which reduced him to a failure. The next largest flaw in society is a want of compassion. This could be as a result of almost overwhelming greed, the main culprit being big business. Tax payers should not film to pay for some random persons drug habit and if people chose to be foolish and want to do drugs they should get a line to support their bad habit. As a result, drug testing welfare recipients would reveal the people who are wasting the tax payers money.In conclusion, passi ng and receiving welfare is a privilege and if the government continues to allow drug users collect welfare payment, this will show that they condone their behavior. But how can she not be okay with sharing her bench, when she is okay with sharing other stuff? Even with the exchan ge of niceties, she still gets annoyed and feels invaded of her personal space. But as she meets the other woman in the story, this changes. She is annoyed at the beginning. We hear about all her prejudices, such as how the other woman is drinking from a water bottle and how the narrator finds this pretentious.Again the emergency to be alone shows, she is trying to avoid the womans crying and sharing of personal problems. But the womans problem affects the narrator. They are similar. They both have an obsessive relationship with that particular bench. They both feel its their own. But beyond that, they are opposites. She is going through the beginning of an unwanted pregnancy while the other woman has en trying to conceive for years. Hearing these problems on the bench seem to affect her, because she gets the head to share her baby -? or rather give it away to the other woman.She wants to do something nice, and since she does not want it anyway, why not give it to someone who want s it very much? For the first time, she could do something with a purpose and it was because of what she experienced on her dear bench.
